OOTD sunny Friday after a week of rain!

Yay!! Victorians have come out of hermiting to see the light after a week of rain. And I'm celebrating in my FIRST orange dress ever.. I'm wearing a maxi dress from the gap I bought on a late night shopping trip Wednesday(who knew the mall was open until 9!) I walked into Gap and saw a dress I was lusting over last time and come to find out this 80 dollar dress was now 16.99!! I've paired it with my flats from the Aldo outlet, which are so comfy and only $20. For accessories I'm wearing my new stud earrings from Violette and my spike necklace from Amelia Lee Boutique on Johnson street.

T-shirts, T-shirts, T-shirts!

I am obsessed with t-shirt with logos.  My obsession started  3 years when I was in Friday Harbour on a hot July day and I stopped into Daisy Bloom.  Daisy Bloom is the one of my favorite boutiques and I only get to go there once a year.  I stumbled across it on my first trip to Friday Harbour on San Juan island. The owner is super lovely, charming and very helpful.  She also brings in some of my favorite US lines such Free people, Chaser, Michael Stars just to name a few. I’m pretty sure she used to be a buyer at Nordstrom which would explain why I Iove her store so much.   I have a few rules when I boutique shop in the States… support the US economy and purchase items that are manufactured in the US. It makes me feel like I’m doing my part… just like my theory on drinking California wine but I could do a whole other post on that.  Ever since that first day I purchased my Rebel Yell logo t-shirt at Daisy bloom I have been addicted.  There’s nothing more comforting on a weekend than slipping into a super soft  t-shirt and my favorite pair of jeans.  Currently my fave is a grey Chaser with an easy rider logo on the front that I got at Suasion here in Victoria. Chaser is a brand  from LA that originated with the LA punk rock scene and their philosophy  is: “ The garment better be luxuriously soft. When our customer wakes up in the morning we want Chaser to be the garment they wear, not the one they have to. If their job requires a suit, the moment our cutomer gets home they tear it off and put on their favorite Chaser”  That is exactly how this t-shirt makes me feel.   The neck and hem are both distressed and the back has small scoop which adds just a little bit of sexy to it. The 100% cotton is so soft it feels like it's been washed a thousand times. Definitely a go to piece for me.

Robin's May 2013 Beauty Favourites

1) Air Control,Aveda Hairspray. 9.1 fl oz for $24

The Description: creates light, workable hold-with natural pine and certified organic flax seed-for all hair types.

Why I Love It: hairspray is because its very light and has such a nice natural fragrance that sticks with you ALL day. Before work instead of wearing a perfume I use a bit of this for my curls and throughout the day as my hair swishes I get whiffs.

2)The Scrub Of Your Life, Soap and Glory Body Scrub, 16.00 for 190ml

Description:It’s thick, it’s foamy, it’s fantastically fresh, it’s satisfyingly stuffed with just the right ratio of scrubbing beads. Scented with our Original Pink™ fragrance.

Why I Love It: This body scrub has soap and glories signature scent that smells of Chanel coco mademoiselle which smells so feminine and sexy to me. In this scrub there are exfoliating beads and I find I don't need much to really get a good scrub on. I use my exfoliating mitt from body shop in combination w this scrub.
3)M.A.C Mineralize Foundation (NW20) 1fl oz for $40.00
Applied with the #130 Sonia kashuk buffing brush

Description:A combination of powders creates an optical blurring effect that virtually diminishes imperfections and fine lines, for a more even tone. The light-reflecting, natural satin finish makes skin appear refined, revitalized and refreshed with a new purity, softly lit from within. SPF 15 adds the perfect finishing touch of sun protection. Features our 77-Mineral Complex, Shea Butter and Vitamin E.

Why I Love It:This foundation has SUCH a beautiful dewy texture, And leaves me glowing. (My face is normal with dry patches.) I find it is very natural and can be built up to a heavy coverage. I'm not usually a fan of macs foundations because they are usually drying and too heavy for me but I find this one doesn't sit on dry patches and lets my freckles pop through. Recently target came to Victoria and I was ver excited for the beauty department that has quite a few brands we don't have Sonia kashuk being one. This brush is so soft and really works the product in.
4)Elizabeth W. Small Batch Production Perfume, 2fl oz for $42.00

Description: Perfumes speak to the individual, not the masses.  Using traditional methods and the most precious fragrant oils, we hand-blend our scents to create sophisticated, alluring fragrances.
The scent is described as:Summer nights, romance, sensual. White magnolia petals deepened with saffron and sandalwood mingle with Riviera mimosa and gardenia.

Why I Love It: This perfume is so flowery, light, and perfect for spring/summer. I love this company because its all made in small batches naturally and they hand make their paper/labels.
5)It's Raining Men, Lush Shower Gel, 500 ml for $28.95

Description: sweet, softening shower gel for honey scented skin filled with exotic flowers and all of mother natures best that we could squeeze in!

Why I Love It:For all those people out there who know me know I'm not crazy about long showers, I get in and get out. This body wash makes me want to take my time and relax. It's like smothering your self in a sudsy lovely honey comb(minus they prickly ass bees and such.)

Thin stacking rings

I recently have been lusting over thin stacking rings. I was unsure how they would look on my fingers but after getting my mint coloured manicure I thought that it would be the best time to try some on.  Nicholas Randall had a huge selection and I ended up with 5 rings. I can stack them, wear them over my knuckle or just wear one at a time. They are so versatile and I'm sure I'll be wearing them throughout the summer.
